During his many years in the political wilderness Hoover became a prolific writer, memoirist and historian. His book on World War II, Freedom Betrayed, was only published in 2011 (www.amzn.com/B0076QSNW8)! Hoover was an anti-interventionist who supported isolationism prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor. Hoover was a consistent advocate for freedom and limited government; he opposed statism of the fascist right and also the Communist left.
