Commander Bond and the Bikini

If the Olympics or any other excuse brings you to London this summer, you will have a chance to see the latest exhibition of fashion in the world of James Bond which is going on at the Barbican.

As Fashion historian Bronwyn Cosgrave concludes, "It's the longest running and most successful film franchise of all time – and the most glamorously made," says Cosgrove. "Nothing can touch it. That is why Bond and his sidekicks are inspirational to people all over the world and to all ages."

One of my spy friends in London recently went to the exhibit in London and managed to snap this super secret photo...

What man can ever forget the precise moment that he first saw Ursula Andress rising up from the Caribbean in Dr. No?

Commander Kelly says, "Go check out the James Bond costumes at the Barbican!"

What is the perfect drink to have while watching a Bond movie this summer?  Given Dr. No's Caribbean setting and not forgetting Halle Berry's homage to Honey Ryder (Die Another Day), Commander Kelly would have to suggest a Mojito.  Here is a recipe for the perfect Mojito...

10 to 15 mint leaves, plus sprig for garnish
1 ounce fresh squeezed (critical) lime juice
1 ounce simple syrup (1/2 sugar / water)
2 ounces white rum (I would suggest Novo Fogo from Brazil)
Splash of soda water (San Pellegrino)

In the bottom of a rocks glass, muddle the mint leaves with the lime juice and simple syrup.  Muddle lightly to release the oils in the mint, do not pulverize the leaves.  Add the rum.  Top with crushed ice and and the soda water.  Stir well from the bottom up.  Garnish with the mint sprig and enjoy!
